I have focused on the overwhelming and destructive force of nature, which will always be stronger than us. We often think that science and technology can solve everything. But people overestimate themselves. Faced with a natural disaster you realize how small and insignificant we are. I want people to be conscious of this, to treat nature and themselves with greater awareness.
The collages consist of photos of natural structures, such as a moss-covered stone, combined with my own drawings. I construct my work organically; consider where the drawings of the tiny people, ark and doves fit in. Next to the disaster of drowning, I also want to show the hopeful side of the story of the Flood. Most people do not survive, but the Flood also offers a chance of a better world.
